Yijin Li
President Yijin is a Chemical Engineering Master student at Columbia University. She serves as the Research Assistant under Dr. Chris Boyce, and works on modeling and investigating the fluid flow behavior on the vibrated gas-solids fluidized bed. Her aim is to quantify the organized patterns of flow, this technique can be utilized to control chaotic system and optimize the transport process in energy and construction sectors. At Columbia Center on Global Energy Policy, she conducts comprehensive research under Professor David Sandalow on world energy and environmental policy, and investigates topics closely related to climate change, energy technology and innovation from a policy making perspective. Yijin holds a Chemical Engineering bachelor degree from the University of Rochester. Prior to Columbia, Yijin has a great exposure on Wastewater Treatment through senior design project; oil & gas sector at China National Petroleum Corporation; research under Dr. Matthew Z. Yates on electrochemical properties of Hydroxyapatites. |
Vikki (Vigneswari) Muthukumaresan
Vice President Vikki is a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering at Columbia University. She previously completed her undergraduate in Robotics and Automation with a concentration in electrical energy from PSG College of Technology, India. She is keen on integrating automation in the power domain and stands for sustainable engineering. She has worked on projects related to industrial energy management, energy conservation and co-authored an e-book titled 'Basic Concepts of Smart Grid'. |
Qian Chen
Treasurer Qian Chen is a MS student in Civil Engineering in Columbia University. She did her undergraduate study in Building Environment and Energy in Chia. She has done some internships in building environment intended to save energy in building. She has a strong background in dealing with financial problems and is now focusing on Construction Management in Columbia. |
Heyang Qi
Secretary Heyang was born and raised in Shenyang, China. She is now a Master of Science student majoring in Earth and Environmental Engineering and doing the research on Solvent Extraction Desalination with Prof. Yip. She got her Bachelor’s degree both in the Pennsylvania State University and China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing in Environmental System Engineering. Heyang is interested in water quality and desalination and also other areas in the concentration of energy. |
Tushar Roy
Alumni & Corporate Liaison Tushar is a Computer Engineering Master student at Columbia University. He completed his undergraduate study in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, India. Prior to joining Columbia, Tushar worked for four years in the automotive industry for Cummins, India through Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). During his undergraduate study he interned with a medium-scale oil drilling equipment manufacturing firm. He has also served as the Electronic Module Lead for his undergraduate Formula Student SAE team. He is passionate about unravelling technology driven solutions to global energy problems. He hopes to see World shift to 100% renewable yet safe sources of energy during his lifetime! In his free time he likes reading, watching theatre and traveling. |
Camille (Ke) Ren
Communication & Social Chair Camille is currently studying in the MS program in Chemical Engineering, focusing in energy, at Columbia University. She completed her Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering in China. Prior to Columbia, Camille worked as a member of marketing committee and videographer for Columbia University Life Events Council. She was in charge of promoting upcoming events by reaching out to RA’s, tabling, flyering, and using social media. She also work on getting feedback and marketing requests from other committees, meeting with other committees one-on-one and finalizing tabling activity. |
Uddhav Chavan
Symposium and Outreach Chair Uddhav is Civil Engineering Master student in Columbia university, pursuing Specialization in construction Management. He has completed his bachelor’s in civil engineering from Mumbai, India. Prior to Columbia, He has been working as a civil engineer intern in Aarya Trenchless Engineering Company. He is passionate and enthusiastic about his work and always thrive to improve himself. He believes in giving back to the society as it has given him such a great opportunity to develop himself. |
Sagar Shorey
Club coordinator Sagar is a Mechanical Engineering Master student at Columbia University. He completed his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani, India. Post that, he was working with Aditya Birla Group as a member of their Energy Team to analyze and implement techniques to reduce power usage within their industrial processes and operations. He believes that we will be able to pull ourselves out of any problem provided that we share knowledge and collaborate. His objective in life is to see the people of the Earth thrive on the vast potential of their star’s energy. In life, he tries to maintain a balance between being disciplined and going with the flow. |
Vatsal Jaipuria
Communications Lead Vatsal is a Masters in Chemical Engineering student at Columbia University. He completed his undergraduate study in Chemical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, India. In the Age of Ecological development, with the rising demand for renewable and clean energy sources, it is imperative for him to leverage this transition by being a part of innovative and cutting-edge technologies. Prior to joining his master's program, he has been a part of extensive research on the preparation of dye-synthesized solar cells with an overhauling efficiency of 19% energy conversion at the University of Belgrade. He has been instrumental in working towards water sanity and conservation by developing Arsenic removal Water filters and detection kits, to test drinking water in affected regions, which help save the lives of 1500 people in India. As the Communications Lead of Columbia Engineering Energy Club(CEEC), he is looking forward to communicating with Energy mavens across the country and expand the horizon of Green Future. |
